HELP! IF ANYONE HAS BETTER COPIES OF THESE PHOTOS, PLEASE SCAN & SEND THEM...

Please bear in mind that all of these pictures were scanned from the books (which the printing quality left something to be desired). They were scanned with a Lexmark X75 flatbed at 300 dpi, greyscale, then reworked using Paintshop Pro 7, using a variety of filters, trial and error, and a lot of patience. The real challenge was to keep the file size down and still retain some kind of quality. I think most of them turned out rather well considering what I had to work with. But I can't complain because Mother Brady & Pop Troy's intent was to pass down a legacy, which they accomplished, and I personally have a great appreciation for their efforts and sacrifices (though they had fun doing it!). I hope the rest of the family and future generations find something within themselves through these works......RmB

A very sober Virginia Elizabeth Thrash. I was twelve years old at this time. A couple by the name of "Pettit' were boarding with us at the hotel my parents operated in Creston, W. Va. He was an oil well driller and they would return to their home in Parkersburg periodically. They took me home with them for a few days visit and had this picture made.
