Cora Bell [Abney] Beard Obituary

BEARD, Mrs. Cora Bell, 68, Attalla Rt. 2, died Monday at 5:30 a.m. at the residence after an extended illness.

Survivors are daughters, Mrd. Norman Kilgore and Mrs. George Washington, both of Attalla; Mrs. Dewey Brown, Steele. Sons, Howard and Guy W. Beard both of Steele; Edward Beard, Attalla; brother Herman Abney, Gadsden; step-mother, Mrs. Nettie Abney, Boaz, half-sister, Mrs. Connie Noojin, Boaz; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Red Hill Methodist Church with the Revs. Homer Barnes, Aubrey Smith and Irvin Welborn offiating. Burial will be in adjoining cemetery. Active pallbearers, Joe Paul Brown, Bill Pruitt, Benny Washington. Rickey Beard, Garvis Dover, Junior Garrett, Adron Willingham, David Kilgore.

Mrs. Beard was a native of Bartow County, Ga. and a resident of Etowah County for the past 58 years. She was a member of Noble Hill Baptist Church.

The body will remain at the residence until the hour of service.
