Notes:

*For the most part, the House Show title changes are not recognized by the as "official" history. Nevertheless, these changes did occur, even though they were designed to leave the championship continuity the same for TV. (ie., Raven was the champion at the beginning and the end of the night by losing and regaining the title at the same house show.)

7. This "match" was pretaped and broadcast on this night's edition of RAW. Holly had issued an open challenge that he would defend the belt anywhere and at anytime. Gas had pinned Holly in the airport.

8. This pinfall took place right after the above "match" with Holly pinning Gas in the airport to regain the title.

9. Hardcore Holly was the final winner in a 15 minute "hardcore battle royal" and was the last man to win the Hardcore Title at Wrestlemania 2000. All winners won the Hardcore Title. Competing in the match were: The Acolytes, Sho Funaki, The Headbangers, Crash & Hardcore Holly, Mean Street Posse, Taka Michinoku, Tazz and Viscera.

12. Crash pins Matt Hardy during Matt's bout with his brother, Jeff Hardy. It now seems to be assumed that the Hardcore belt is on the line, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (see note 7)

13. Test lost the belt to Rhyno on . Seconds after the match, star Mike Awesome took advantage of the 24/7 rule and pinned Rhyno. This is significant because Awesome is not a wrestler. To make matters more confusing, on July 9, 2001, announced their reformation with Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley as owner. wrestler Mike Awesome, still Hardcore Champion, jumped ship to .

14. Maybe too much speculation for no good reason. Jeff Hardy brings the Hardcore Title back to the on Smackdown.

15. Van Dam is an wrestler.

16. The scheduled match was Van Dam vs. Kurt Angle. Jeff Hardy ran down in the middle of the match to score the pinfall on RVD, presumably using the 24/7 rule.

19. Goldust took advantage of the 24/7 rule, pinning Maven backstage after their losing to him earlier in the program.

20. Utilizing the 24/7 Rule, these title changes occurred at Wrestlemania X8; Mighty Molly is a female wrestler.

21. Match started as a 4 way match between Champion Steven Richards and challengers Tommy Dreamer, Shawn Stasiak, and Justin Credible. Dreamer pinned Stasiak to win the title. Other changed took place via the 24/7 rule.

22. Trish is a female wrestler.

23. Terri is a female wrestler.

24. This match was a "hardcore battle royal" in which all pinfalls resulted in a new champion being crowned. This was the final Hardcore Title match to utilize the 24/7 rule.

25. Tommy Dreamer lost a Title Unification match to WWE Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam. The Hardcore Title is now vacated, and RVD is the "Undisputed" Intercontinental Champion.
