1. Not to be confused with the King of the Ring, but this "title" grew out of a KOTR tournament. Please note that during the existence of the King of the WWF crown, King of the Ring tournaments were held which had no bearing on who wore the King of the WWF crown. See the Supercards section for KOTR results.
2. Defeated Pedro Morales in the finals of the KOTR Tournament. On 08/05/86, as a promotional gimmick, he was crowned "King of the WWF" and actually defended the crown in matches until he "vacated the throne" in May of 1988 due to an injury.
3. Savage held the crown until the "title" was abandoned in April of 1990.
