4. The title was vacated when WWF dropped women's wrestling in 1990. It was brought back in 1993. Alundra Blaze won a tournament, defeating Heidi Lee Morgan in the final.

5. Blayze threw the title belt in the trash upon arrival in WCW. She was fired by the WWF on 12/13/95. The title was deactivated.

6. Women's wrestling was dropped again in 1995. It was re-activated in 1998, with Jackie defeating Sable in a one-match tournament to declare a new champion.

7. Nicole Bass was substituting for Sable and defeated McMichael in an evening gown match. WWF Commissioner Shawn Michaels reversed the decision saying he felt that the woman that lost her gown should be the winner and awarded the title to McMichael.

8. Ivory was also known as Tina Ferarri in the GLOW promotion during the mid 80's

9. Moolah initially came out to the ring to retire and vacate the championship, but Ivory demanded a rematch and pinned Moolah to win the championship.

10. This was an Evening Gown match, held in a pool, between Ivory, Miss Kitty, B.B., and Jacqueline. Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young were the special guest referees.
