WILLIS P. GOURLEY, 83 Funeral services for Willis Palmer Gourley, 83, Bedford, were Wednesday, August 9, 2000, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca, Iowa, with Rev. Robert Beard officiating. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery near Villisca. Memorial may be directed to the Bedford Congregate Meal Site or the United Methodist Church in Villisca. Mr. Gourley died Sunday, August 6, 2000, at the Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning, Adams County, Iowa. He was born October 30, 1916, near Villisca to Robert M. and Anna A. Barber Gourley. He graduated from Villisca High School in 1933. He married Theda Denney of Clarinda October 30, 1937, in Pittsburgh, California. To this union, four daughters were born: Sandra, Judy, Sue, and Sherry. Theda Gourley preceded her husband in death August 3, 1993. He had farmed and owned Gourleys Golden Hybrid seed business in the Villisca area for many years. He married Crystal Hayworth McNutt of Diagonal May 29, 1994, in Ozark, Missouri. They moved to Bedford in 1995. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, canning many things, especially jalapeno peppers and horseradish, which usually was a family and friend affair, and enjoyed his time at the Bedford Congregate Meal Site. He was a member of the Villisca United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Theda Gourley in 1993, brothers, Marshall, Robert, and Merle and sisters, Beulah and Grace; and one grandson, Craig Smith. Survivors include his wife, Crystal Gourley of Bedford; daughters Sandra Smith and her husband Marvin, of Nodaway, Iowa, Judy Davis and her husband, Jerry, of Bedford, Iowa, Sue Davis and her husband, Barney of Waterloo and Sherry Maxwell and her husband, Larry, of Lincoln, Nebraska. Stepchildren, Betty Miller of Diagonal, Kenneth McNutt and his wife Lucille, of Marion, Marvin McNutt and his wife, Loretta, of Larned, Kansas, and Steven McNutt and his wife, Sherrie, of Trenton, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; 13 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Hester Ann Huginin of Napa, California, and Gladys Brown of Payette, Idaho; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Matula and her husband, Tody of Cherokee; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Randy D. Denney

TARKIO, Mo. Randall Randy Duane Denney, 54, Tarkio, died Feb. 14, 2007. He was born March 25, 1952, to Paul and Esther (Twaddle) Denney in Burlington Junction, Mo.
Survivors are four daughters, Dawn Hutt, Coin, Iowa; and Kimberly, Megan and Rochelle Denney, Las Vegas, Nev.; and five grandchildren.
His parents; and brothers, Joe, Jim and Kenny, preceded him in death.
A graveside memorial service will be Friday, March 2, at 1 p.m. at the Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Junction. Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.

!OBIT:Lester Dwaine Sims was born Nov 25, 1928 at Merced, CA to Cressie Shelton and Marjorie Mary (Denney) Sims. He entered into rest at his home Feb. 1, 2007 following a brief illness. He was 78.

!Lester and his family moved a lot when he was young. He attended
junior high school in Exira, IA and then they moved to Hepburn, IA. He
graduated from Clarinda High School then went into the U. S. Air Force
and served in Germany, Korea, Philippines and Viet Nam. He returned to Clarinda after retiring in 1968. He served from March 1948 to May
1968. He lived on a farm northwest of Clarinda. Many local people
counted on Lester for farm fresh eggs delivered to their door.

!Lester was preceded in death by his parents; brother Danny Dee Sims and his wife Marla. He is survived by his sister, Imalda Marlene Lile and
husband Walter of Fort Dodge, IA; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorials suggested to American Cancer Society.

Sims, Danny Dee (b. 30 AUG 1930, d. 18 MAR 2006)
Note: !OBIT: Danny Sims, age 75, of Farragut, Iowa, died Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Creighton Medical Center Emergency Room, Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held 1:30pm Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home, Clarinda, Iowa. Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery Clarinda, Iowa, with military rites
by American legion Post 98 and VFW Post 9230. A memorial will be
established. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.walker-merrick-wolfe-barr.com.

!Danny Dee Sims was born August 30, 1930, at Clarinda, Iowa, to Cressie S. Sims and Mary Marjorie (Denney) Sims. He was a graduate of Clarinda High School and Northwest Missouri University, Maryville, Missouri and received his Masters degree from Truman StateUniversity, Kircksville, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean Conflict.
Danny was united in marriage to Marla Wilson December 29, 1955 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. She preceded him in death May 14, 2003. Danny was a teacher and coach. He first taught and coached at Galt, Missouri. He then taught and coached at Carson, Iowa; Lennox, Iowa; Farragut, Iowa and retired at Albany, Missouri. Thru the years Danny had coached all boys and girls sports, including football, basketball, track and baseball. Following his retirement at Albany, he moved to Farragut, Iowa to an acreage. After retirement he coached football at Farragut. Danny loved all animals and on his acreage he raised rabbits, cats, turkeys, goats, peacocks, dogs and horses.

!Preceding Danny in death were his parents; wife, Marla; two
grandchildren, Trevor Bell and Ryan Holman. Survivors include his
children: Stacy Sims and his wife Dawn of Farragut, Iowa, Savon Daum and husband Greg Morris of Bloomington, Minnesota, Shawn Holman and husband Larry of Farragut, Iowa, Shelly Holman and husband Rick of Milford, Iowa, Shannan Athen and husband Curtis of Hamburg, Iowa, Stacia Bell and husband Myron of Bellvue, Nebraska, Stefany Cheeks of Lansing, Michigan, Shane Sims and wife Rachael of Ft. Benning, Georgia; twenty five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Lester Sims of Clarinda, Iowa; sister, Imalda Lile and husband Walter of Ft. Dodge, Iowa; brother-in-law, Jerry Wilson of Carter Lake, Iowa; brother-in-law, Ron Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law-, Janette Wilson of Clarinda, Iowa; nieces, nephews and cousins.
