Donna
Stewart submitted this great advertisement from Neal & Sons Dry
Goods.
On the back it is labelled "Santa Claus 1895."
This cabinet card was stored with others from her
McKenna family.
The photographer who created the whimsical image
was Charles Quartley
who maintained a studio in Baltimore beginning
in 1878.
Unfortunately, he had his focus set on the pages
of Santa's ledger
resulting in a somewhat out-of-focus image of Saint
Nick.
A unique and terrific picture!
