Julius
Hebbel created this cabinet card of Louis Diggs' grandfather, George Grant
Diggs who was born in the mid-1800s and lived in Boring, Piney Grove, Maryland.
Julius Hebbel's studio was located in Baltimore from 1873 through 1903,
for most of that time on North Gay Street.
Slightly
beyond the 19th-century, this photo is none-the-less quite interesting.
It is a graduation picture of Louis Diggs' mother, Agrada Lynn Deaver Diggs
who was a graduate of Baltimore Normal School, now Coppin State College.
The photo was made by Penn Studios on Pennsylvania Avenue.
A fashion-plate of her time, this beautiful photo
captured Ariel Ellen Diggs probably in the early 1900s. The photo studio
is not known.
Another fascinating picture from Louis Diggs. This
is Hilton Smith Diggs who was born late in the 19th-century and served
in World War I in France. This photo shows him in his military uniform.
