| This is a really
nice collection from one family of what are likely three brothers dating roughly to the end of the 19th-century. Harry's image, probably a christening photo was made by Richard Walzl. On the reverse side, the caption states, "Harry Hollingsworth, son of Richard and Josephine Coleman Hollingsworth". It was made between 1882 and 1885. Richard's photo, also likely a christening picture was made by Blessing and Kuhn between 1882 and 1886 and is labelled, "8 months old." Finally, one of the most unique photos from this time period has been made out of doors on an obviously cold, snowy, icey day. But, it certainly would appear that this is a professional studio photo. It suggests that the photographer had set up his camera on the sidewalk to capture the kids at play. Unfortunately, there is no studio logo, although someone has hand written what appears to be W. L. Robinson. Martin L. Robinson was a Baltimore photographer from 1871 to 1898. |
