Baltimore City Nineteenth-Century Photos

Miss Johnson

Miss Johnson, July 1904

Unfortunately, the original photo is in very bad condition.
I was unable to tweak it to look any better than it is.

On this hot summer day, poor Miss Johnson
is done up to the nines in her Victorian regalia
including an umbrella in the right hand and an
impressive hat on the head.

Perhaps even more Victorian than the young woman
is the magnificent house in the background.

There is no photo studio identified.

This photo was purchased from e-Bay in a lot
that included those of Carville Benson and
John Thomas Varley.
