Baltimore City Nineteenth-Century Photos

Harry L. Perkins made this image of H. C. Landis sometime between 1887 and 1897 when his studio was located at 311 East Baltimore Street. Perkins' father, Mr. P. L. Perkins had established this studio as early as 1846, not only one of the oldest in Baltimore but one of the oldest in the United States. The distinguised appearing subject of this image signed the back of the photo, "Very Sincerely, Your Friend, H. C. Landis."
