E. N. Taylor had this cabinet card made in the Shorey
Photo Studio in Baltimore. The 1880 federal census
for Maryland
contains only one match for an E. N. Taylor, that
of
Eugene N. Taylor of Whitehaven, Wicomico County
and his
wife Sarah C. ages 26 and 24. Eugene was a farmer.
Not only is
Wicomico County a long distance from Shorey's business
in Baltimore
but ""Esquire"" is not an expected suffix for a
farmer.
