Anne Elizabeth McCormick, nee O'Hare. 1880 to 1954.
American journalist,
b. Wakefield, Yorkshire, England.
Went to U.S. as a child.
married in 1910 to Francis J. McCormick.
She was Foreign correspondent of New York Times from 1922.
She was the first woman to receive (in 1937) the Pulitzer prize for journalism.
Author of The Hammer and the Scythe (1928), The World at Home (1956), Vatican
Journal 1957).
