Albert Rayner


Albert Rayner (19th April 1923 to 26th September 2004), was a local sporting legend. He was a co-founder of the White Rose Amateur Boxing Club. He was also the RAF flyweight champion.

He was a World Skipping record holder with 76 skips in 10 seconds, and at the age of 59 became the oldest record holder, when he upped it to 128 skips in 10 seconds. He held records for Indian club swinging (17512 revolutions in an hour)

He was also a part time rugby league referree for over 25 years.
