Mary Archer

JOHNSON CITY -- Mary Lucille Archer, 80, died Saturday morning at Colonial Hill Nursing Home after a brief illness.

A native of Washington County, she received a masters degree in library science from Peabody College.  She taught library science at Lynn View High School and was assistant librarian at Milligan College until her retirement.  She was a member of the East Unaka Church of Christ.

She was the daughter of the late, L. G. and Martha Estell Archer.

She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Joe Nave in 1966 and one sister, Cecile Kiser.

Surviving are two brothers, Carl P. Archer, Kingsport and Ralph Archer, Green Valley, Ari.; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Monte Vista Burial Park with David K. Boswell minister officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Milligan College in her memory.

Appalachian Funeral Home, Johnson City, is in charge of arrangements.
