Betty Hagood of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Saturday June 28, 2008
At Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a member of Temple Baptist
Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to
all who knew her.
Preceding her in death are her parents; Joe and Mary Danna, one brother
Ralph Danna, two sisters; Clara Bullock and Marie Farmer.
Surviving are her husband, Glenn Hagood of Kingsport; one daughter, Kristi
Steadman and husband Barry of Kingsport; two sons, Mike Hagood of Church
Hill, Brian Hagood and wife Andrea of Kingsport; six grandchildren, Adam
Hagood, Kali Hagood, Audra Steadman, Luke Steadman, Ashtyn Hagood, Caleb
Hagood; two brothers, Bill Danna and wife Betty, Don Danna and wife Ann,
both of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at
8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Schuler and Brother Bobby
Russell officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill
Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon
International Memorial Bible Program, P.O. Box 3217, Kingsport, TN, 37664.

SURGOINSVILLE - Phyllis
Ann (Dodson) Hughes, the daughter of the late Henry J. and Isabelle
Dodson, passed away Wednesday (April 18, 2007) at her home in
Surgoinsville.
Born in Kingsport, she
was a graduate of Lynn
View High
School and had an associate degree in Law Enforcement Technology from
Walters State. She was a member of Francis Haun Chapter Order of Eastern
Star and is a past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of the First
United Methodist Church in Surgoinsville.
She worked for Sullivan
County Sheriff's Department for several years, then left Tennessee to
live in Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and California. She retired from Xanterra
Parks and resorts with most of her time spent at Scotty's Castle in
Death Valley, Calif.
Also preceding her in
death are a brother, Fred Dodson; sisters, Mary Ketron and Ruth Herron;
nephews, William (Billy) Herron, Jr. and Billy Ketron.
Surviving are her
brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph E. and Gladys Dodson of
Surgoinsville, Virgil (Jack) and Patsy Dodson, Howard Joe and Anna
Dodson, all of Kingsport; nieces, Paula Patterson, Pamela Dodson, Judy
Spencer, Jeannie Huff, Lois Pendleton and Susie Hart; nephews, Ralph
Dodson, II, Brian Dodson and Brad Dodson; several great and
great-great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive
friends 45 minutes prior to the service at Surgoinsville First United
Methodist Church.
Memorial services will
be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Cynthia Thompson
officiating.
In lieu of flowers and
food, the family request memorial contributions be made to The
Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart
Avenue, Bethpage, N.Y. 11714 or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718,
