Cline Franklin

June 23, 1997

Kingsport -- Cline Franklin, 68, 4822 Southwind Drive, Kingsport went to be with the Lord Monday (June 23, 1997) at Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Marshall, NC, he had lived in Kingsport most of his life.  He retired from the Hydroquinone Department of Eastman Kodak after 32 years of service.  Mr. Franklin was the first Distinguished President of the Lynn Garden Optimist Club and was a member of Kingsport Masonic Lodge No. 688 and the Woodrow Ruritan Club.  He was a deacon of Lynn Garden Baptist Church and was presently a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.

He was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death y his parents, Blanco and Bessie Bishop Franklin; and two brothers, Roy Burrell Franklin and Everett Franklin.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Jo Fleming Franklin, Kingsport; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Annette and George Mougridis, Dallas, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Jimmy Cline and Kathy Franklin, Knoxville and Johnny Lee and Donna Franklin, Nashville; four grandchildren, Leslie Thomas, Beth Thomas, Robert Cline Franklin and Maria Annette Mougridis; two sisters, Selma F. Callison, Johnson City and Geneva F. Robinson, Kingsport; a brother, Rev. Loyce Franklin, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Jack C. Parrott, the Rev. Danny Hensley and the Rev. Carl Strickler officiating.

Graveside services will e conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family suggest memorials be made to the building fund at Sunnyside Baptist Church, 406 Cooks Valley Road, Kingsport, TN. 37664.
