James Falin

PINEY FLATS --  James E. Falin, 54, 309 Sunset Road, died Tuesday (Oct. 3, 1995) at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Ind.

A native of Scott County, Va., he lived most of his life in Sullivan County.  He retired from Eastman Chemical Company with 34 years of service.

He was a Presbyterian.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe E. Falin.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Joyce Johnson Falin; one son, Jeff Falin, North Augusta, S.C.; one daughter, Gina Smith, Concord, N.C.; his mother, Rosa Rebecca Smith Falin, Colonial Heights; two grandchildren; one sister, Marcella Ward, Colonial Heights; and two nieces.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Woodall-Anderson Funeral Home, Johnson City.  Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jim Hoilman officiating.

Kingsport – Hugh S. Fox Jr., 67, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Friday January 18, 2008 after an extended illness.

He was born in Bland County, VA and had lived in Kingsport most of his life. Mr. Fox served in the U.S. National Guard. He was retired from Hugh Fox Builders and was still active in building. Mr. Fox was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church and attended Christ Fellowship Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh S. and Ruby Hall Fox Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice R. Fox, of the home; daughters, Stephanie Fox Sanders and husband Andrew, Kingsport, Amy Fox Bryant and husband Jeff, Kingsport; grandchildren, Tyler Sanders, Stephen Sanders, Brandon Bryant, Joshua Bryant, Ashley O’Neal, Chelsea O’Neal, Taylor Rachel Bryant and Bode Fox Bryant; great-grandchild, Brandon Bausell; sisters, Faye Fox Wagner and husband William R., Kingsport, Nancy Fox Fleenor and husband Larry, Kingsport; brother, Donald Lee Fox and wife Susan, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday January 20, 2008 at Christ Fellowship Church with Pastor Greg DePriest and Rev. Rodney Fields officiating. Military ceremony will follow conducted by The Tennessee National Guard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Williams, Nick Bevins, Bobby McConnell, Jeff Frazier, Jody Tranbarger, and Larry Landis. The family will receive friends immediately after the services at Christ Fellowship Church. Friends and family who wish to attend are asked to meet at the church by 3:45 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association, One Vantage Way, Suite C-250, Nashville, TN, 37228.
