Morrison City -- Eugene W. Quillen, 24,
of 609 Bell Ridge Road, Morrison City, was found dead at his home
Tuesday apparently of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
His wife, Mrs. Virginia S. Quillen found
the body at 9:30 a.m.
Quillen was born in Scott County, Va.,
and had lived in Kingsport for the past 10 years. He was a
graduate of Lynn View High School and was a member of State Line Baptist
Church.
He was employed as a salesman for the
Jewel Box of Kingsport for the past six years. Survivors
include, besides his widow, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walker P. Quillen of
Kingsport; three sisters, Mrs. George Bailey of Kingsport, Mrs. Virginia
Adams of Detroit, Mich., and Miss Peggy Ann Quillen of Kingsport; and
maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Strong of Gate City, Va. Funeral
services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at State Line Baptist Church with the
Rev. Tony Gonzales and Rev. Hubert Reneau officiating. Burial will
follow in the Holston View cemetery. The
body will be taken to the church one hour before services. The
family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Carter's Chapel. |
Marshalina Quillen (McClellan)

MT. CARMEL-Marsha Quillen McClellan, 65,
passed away Friday (April 17, 2009) at the Bristol Specialty Hospital.
She was Born in Kingsport, and had spent most of her life in this area.
She was a 1961 graduate of Lynn View High School. She worked at Eastman
until 1966, after which she left to start a family. She also served at
the Mt. Carmel Library for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruth Stubblefield
Quillen, and sister, Sonja Davenport.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny McClellan, two sons, Brian
McClellan of Mt. Carmel, Kelly and LuLu McClellan of Akworth, Georgia,
grandchildren, Jesse, Marley, and Jack, niece, Kim Flannary, three
nephews, David Davenport, Chad McClellan, Joe McClellan.
Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 P.M. at Church Hill
Memory Gardens with Rev. Earl Miller officiating. Everyone wishing to
attend is asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 P.M. to leave in
procession.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will
be Freddie Alley, Bob Boyd, Dayton Christian, David Davenport, Wayne
Dean, Eddie Hicks, Chuck McClellan and Gilbert Vance.
The family will receive friends in Celebration of Mrs. McClellan’s
life Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home of Church Hill from 5 to 8:00 P.M.
