Pat Richard (McGreger)

Patrica Hope Richard McGreger, 57, 222 East Wanola Ave., Kingsport, died early Friday, (August 24, 1990) at her residence after an extended illness.

She was a native of Sullivan County having spent the greater part of her life in the Kingsport area.  She was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  She was formerly employed as a licenced practical nurse at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center, retiring due to ill health in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. (Lois Marshall) Richard.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbie McCurry, Athens, Ala. and Mrs. Mike (Joyce) Rogers, Morristown; one grandson; her stepmother, Mrs. Ann Richard, Weber City, Va.; three sisters, Noreen Gibson, Kingsport, Mrs. Bill (Jackie) Winegar, Kingsport and Mrs. Ann Davis, Bulls Gap, Tenn.; one brother, John Richard Jr., Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ron Ramsey officiating.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Entombment will be in Oak Hill Mausoleum.

 

Tommy Russell

KINGSPORT — Thomas Wayne ‘‘Tommy’’ Russell left us to be with the Lord and those who preceded him on Wednesday (June 30, 1999) at Holston Valley Medical Center after a courageous six month battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 18, 1934 in Harriman, Tenn., to the late Samuel and Lucille Crowder Russell and moved to Kingsport at age three.
He was an electrician having worked out of Local Union 934. He was previously employed at AFG Hawkins County Greenland Plant. He later retired from Holston Defense Corp. after over 13 years of service. He was a member of the Kingsport Masonic Lodge No. 688, was a Shriner and a member of the Jericho Temple.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and was well respected. He took great care in all of his endeavors. He accepted the Lord at age 27 and was a member of Cedar View Independent Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Lucille Crowder Russell; an infant sister, Mary Louise Russell; and two brothers, Samuel Ed Russell and Donald ‘‘Pepper’’ Russell.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Nila Shelley Russell, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Dreama R. and Michael Wright, Kingsport; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas L. and Gina Russell, Angier, N.C., and Randall L. and Jennifer Russell, Chattanooga; four beloved grandchildren, Rachel Wright, Shelley Russell, Hunter Wright and Nicholas Russell; one brother, William A. Russell, Ft. Scott, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim Fields officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar View Independent Methodist Church, 1421 Gibson Mill Road, Kingsport, Tenn. 37660; to the Shriner Crippled Children’s Hospital, 2100 N. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, S.C. 29609 or floral tributes will be accepted.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
