Don Taylor

January 12, 1994
Donald P. Taylor, 59, Kingsport, died at
7:27 p.m. Wednesday evening (Jan. 12, 1994) at Holston Valley Hospital and
Medical Center after a brief illness. He
was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County where he was employed by the
Mead Corporation for 41 years. Surviving
are his wife, Bobbie Taylor of the home; one son, Steven Taylor,
Greenville; one grand-daughter; his parents, Claude and Cora Taylor,
Kingsport. Calling hours are
from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. Services
will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the
Rev. Hagan Webb officiating. Pallbearers
are members of the Merchants and Kingsport All-Star Classic Bowling
Leagues. Burial will be in Oak
Hill Cemetery, Kingsport.

Mae Taylor (Tate)

Mae Taylor Tate, 75, of Kingsport,
passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at
Indian Path Medical Center.
She was a life long resident of Sullivan County, (Kingsport) and a
graduate of Lynn View High School in 1952, where she was the
Valedictorian of her class. She had previously worked at Eastman Kodak
and then later worked at Gravely Elementary School as a Secretary until
her retirement having worked for the school district for over 20 years.
Mae was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Tate in 2005; her
parents, W. Frank and Cornelia Monroe Taylor; and three brothers,
Charles "Shorty" Taylor, Lee Taylor and Paul Taylor.
Survivors include her two daughters, Lori Tate Matthews & husband
Greg of Stoughton, Wis. and Angie Medley & husband Carroll of
Columbus, GA; her son, Robert Tate & wife Tina of Kingsport; nine
grandchildren, Calvin & wife Ashley, Carlos, Ethan & wife,
Jessica, Denver, Shane, Aletheia, Lukas, Karissa and Sarah; one sister,
Faye Wampler and husband, Doug of Kingsport; brother, James
"Jim" Taylor and wife Peg of Church Hill, and several nieces
and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6 pm on Tuesday, August 18,
2009 at Vermont United Methodist Church, 1817 Bloomingdale Road,
Kingsport, TN 37660.
Funeral services will be in the church at 6 pm with Rev. Bill Cahill and
Minister Robert Tate, officiating. Music to be provided by Billy
Gillespie.
Graveside services will be at 10 am Wednesday, August 19, 2009 in Oak
Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be her nephews and
grandsons. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at
9:15 am to go in procession.

Church (Love Meals), 1817 Bloomingdale Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, is serving the Tate
family.
