Mike Townsen

KINGSPORT-- Dennis Michael "Mike" Townsen, 37, 109 Hickman St., Kingsport (Bloomingdale), died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 13, 1993) of injuries sustained in an automobile acident.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Kingsport.  He was a 1974 graduate of Lynn View High School.  He was employed by C. E. Thurston & Sons Contractors as a brick mason.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest "Cub" Townsend, Sr.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rita Mae Townsend, of the home; two sons, Dustin Heath Townsend, Fall Branch, and Timmie Robert Townsend of the home; his mother, Frankie "Marie" Townsend, Lenoir City; one sister, Mrs. Larry (Kathy) Phillips, Gray; two brothers, Ernest Townsend Jr., Green Cove Springs, Fla. and Ronald Townsend, Knoxville; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Oak Hill Funeral Home or anytime at the residence, 109 Hickam St.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Michael Hubble officiating.
