Anna
Ruth Wooten Steadman, 80, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on
Friday, March 30, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Anna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Anna was born in Scott
County VA; she spent her childhood days in Surgoinsville, having spent
most of her adult life in Kingsport. Anna was in the first graduating
class of Lynn View High School in 1949. She was employed at Kingsport
Press for several years. Throughout her life she was very active in church
where she served as pianist for several years. Anna was a charter member
of Christ Fellowship Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Etta Mae Wisely
Wooten; sister, Bernice Wooten.
Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband of over 60 years,
Ronald Steadman, of the home; daughter, Rhonda Steadman of Kingsport; son,
Barry Steadman and wife, Kristi of Kingsport; two grandchildren, Audra
Steadman and Luke Steadman.
The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6 pm on Sunday April 1, 2012
at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport.
A service will follow at 6 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Greg
DePriest, Rev. Keith Barker and Rev. Dr. William D. Gibson officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday April 2, 2012 at Oak
Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Pat Steadman, Danny Steadman, Jerry
Steadman, Mike Steadman, Billy Steadman, Jeremy Steadman, David Steadman,
Roy Early, George Steadman, Kirk Loudy and Drew Steadman.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Steadman
family.
