Paul Zion

Canton, GA - Paul E. Zion, 74, of Canton, GA (formerly of Kingsport) went to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 24, 2009 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

Born in Slant, VA, Paul had lived most of his life in Kingsport and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Zion; his parents, Luther and Eliza Starnes Zion.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Cordell and husband, Bobby, of Canton, GA; two grandchildren, Bobby Cordell II and Vanessa Cordell; two sisters, Aleta Zion, of Irvin, TX, and Linda Abbott and husband John, of Kingsport; one brother, John Zion and wife Terri, of Chester, SC; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Friday February 27, 2009 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A funeral service will be held at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating.

Burial will follow at Old Kingsport Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 3/265 and TN Army National Guard. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
