On Saturday, June 16, 2007, the RevFest concert event was held at Dayspring Community Church in Canal Winchester, OH. Being a big fan of the headlining group, Decyfer Down, we attended the concert. National recording act Fireflight performed along with several regional and local bands. And the best part is that the whole event was a day of praising the Lord Jesus Christ!
It was a hot Saturday to be on the asphalt, but we enjoyed the music, games, and food along with nephew Andrew while waiting for the 8:00 PM start time for Fireflight. Fireflight performed a great show and really rocked the neighborhood. We had seen this band perform before, but this was the first time we met them after the show. All are very friendly, but Dawn and Wendy did double duty as they ran their own sales booth after their show.
Decyfer Down was AWESOME!! This is our third time seeing them. The first time they opened in the Scars Remain tour. The second time they played a longer show at a festival in Fredrickstown, OH. But this is the first time that they headlined. All four are great musicians, but even nicer guys. And they really have a heart for the Lord. Caleb is the bass player and lead singer. He definitely masters the scary face of a rock band lead singer - scary hair to match. Chris and Brandon really rock it out on their guitars and they are both so much fun to watch. Josh keeps the beat and is fun to watch, but even more fun to talk with. Sadly, at their previous gig in KY, their van had been broken into and stuff stolen, so they were playing with some replacement gear. Keep them in prayer! Josh was playing the drums in his Crocs and I asked if they were really that comfortable because I see so many people wearing them, and he not only said yes, he had me try them on! He's so silly. But they are all great guys! Enjoy the pictures below.
